My mother grew up on a game/ cattle farm in Namibia until she went to university in South Africa. We still have allot of family in Namibia and for my grandmothers 80th birthday we decide to celebrate on the farm which the family used to own, the new owners run a hunting and guest farm now as well as still working with cattle. They invited the whole family to stay over new years which was really amazing. I was able to see where my mother and all her siblings grew up and put pictures to stories I’ve always been told. I never imagined it could be so beautiful and isolated its literally 3...

Just a quick post, this week for now. My husband took me away for a surprise weekend to the old eastern Transvaal, we stayed near Sabie, it was intensely beautiful and green with so much to photograph. I thought id share this with you though, doesn’t it look almost alien, squid like, it was blowing in the wind and i managed to focus on the “tentacles” as one of the stray “fluff balls” was blowing away. ( excuse my terrible knowledge on this plant “weed” i have always know it as a dandelion. i’m probably wrong...

Sandy and David were my very first wedding where i was the lead photographer, she is the sister of a very good friend of mine and had been following my blog, love my style and decided to ask me if i wouldn’t mind. Sometimes i think if it wasn’t for her i don’t think i would be where i am now with wedding photography, she gave me that push, that confidence that one needs to say “hey, im good at this i can do it”. Sandy i hope you are still loving your photos, and thank you for picking me to do your wedding, and thank you to Kat Forsyth for second...

Symi – Greece Part1

Posted on Oct 11, 2010 in Blog, Featured Shoot, Fun Stuff, News, Photography, Travel | 0 comments

While we were in Greece we took a day trip from Rhodes, to Symi, Its about 2 hours by ferry and you stop at a monastery and then at Symi Town itself. What a gorgeous little treasure its so small and picturesque, but very busy with tourist as the ferry’s come in, but I suppose its the little towns bread and butter so I mustn’t complain. I could of easily just stayed behind on this little island and waited for dusk , I can only imagine the amazing photos I would of gotten. Symi is a photogenic place I could of spent days here. Just before we left on holiday I found a blog about a...

I’ve been very quite on my blog lately, there’s a couple of reasons but the main was my husband and I took a 3 week holiday. We visited our friends in the UK, and while we were there we went to Rhodes, Greece for a week and then also to Paris. It was such a busy whirlwind trip but was worth every bit of the planning, stressing and saving. Seeing friends we haven’t seen in months even years and just getting away from here. It really gave us a fresh perspective on everything. It was an amazing trip. I being click click happy went a bit over bored but who knows when ill ever get...
